My personal wellbeing journey started in my first years of life and has been the need and inspiration for bringing together the practices of dance, visual art and the 'soma' (body-mind) in empirical, exploratory and creative ways, for restoring the relationship between body-mind-emotions-spirit.
Having lived with a genetic 'dis-ease' from an early age, sparked my curiosity for using the sensation of pain as a way to grow in multiple layers and dimensions, as a lense to observe and understand the relationship between my body-mind-emotions and the world. I explored inhabiting pain in creative ways, extracting beauty, deep healing and transformation. My toolkit included art making, moving from the body-mind, relating with space and others, breathing, touching, voicing, sensing cellularly and embodying my own anatomy.
The words below express the power of crossing our vulnerable body-mind doors:
'What is really feared is an open door into a consciousness which leads us back to the old, ancient, infant and mother knowledge of the body, in whose depths lies another form of culture not opposed to nature but instead expressing the full power of nature and our natures'. Susan Griffin
