The Somatic Art Practice® Level 1 residency will take place in person in the beautiful Mansion of Oikia Karapanou, in nature, in the Greek island of Aegina.

The retreat forms part of the SAP® Level 1 professional training, that has an online part (that you might have already taken or will take after the residency) and an in-person part (the residency). Each part can be taken separately, without the interest/need for certification but for gaining SAP® professional tools, inspiration or personal development.
For gaining the SAP® Level 1 Facilitator Certification you need to participate in both parts, otherwise you can receive a certificate of participation of the specific hours (CPD). SAP® professional program focuses on the methodology and pedagogy of somatic artmaking.
During the residency you will have the opportunity to gain:
- embodiment tools from various fields/disciplines, such as somatics (Body-Mind Centering®), fine arts, visual arts ((drawing, sculpture/installation, creative writing, photography and videodance), performing arts (dance, performance, improvisation).
- transdisciplinary methodology tools (in arts based research and in teaching)
- experiential, inquiry-based pedagogy tools
The in presence residency also aims to enrich the areas that cannot be easily experienced in the online part, such as:
- group dynamics
- touch qualities
- presence qualities
- use of big space
- contact with nature
- site-specific somatic artmaking (in relation and response to nature and space)
